James Verity started Verity Design, an interior design business, in 1988 after working since the age of 15 in the family business. After 8 years in residential and commercial design, James applied his talent to the Special Event Industry as an Event Designer & Producer. His projects range from intimate receptions to multi-national corporate galas. In addition to his event design, in 1996 James founded Beau Nappe, an upscale linen rental company. Beau Nappe designs and fabricates a multitude of textile products for rental and sales.
In a civic capacity, James Verity has served on the Academic Advisory Committee of Johnson & Wales University. In 2007 he founded the “Special Event Society of Johnson & Wales”, which today hails as the largest student organization of the university. James currently serves as an advisor to the International Live Events Association of Rhode Island.
James is also a founding board member and Past President of the International Live Event Association of Rhode Island, where he brought home RI’s first three international awards for Communications, Membership Growth and Programs & Education. He also served on the International Membership Committee of ILEA. James simultaneously served 10 years as Executive Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Elmwood Foundation. He was one of four selected to merge two multimillion dollar CDC’s to form what is now Community Works RI. With multiple citations for service, James also contributes countless hours to public educational institutions and Community Development Corporations.
